We are proud to have a wonderful school choir with children from Years 1 to 6 taking part every Tuesday after school under the leadership of Ms Davis. The children thoroughly enjoy taking part in various performances, both in school and at other venues. There is no audition to become a member of the choir and everyone is welcome.
Choir News 2017-18
Our lovely choir was in demand over the Christmas period and sang at the switching on of the Christmas lights both at Little London and Enham Alamein. Both events included some rousing community singing and, at Enham, the children joined together with the clients from the Enham Trust toform a 'super' choir. They were also invited to perform at the Sundowners Club in Andover in front of a small group of elderly members of the community who thoroughly enjoyed being treated to a range of Christmas carols.
Before Christmas, the choir had learned a whole range of songs on the theme of animals which they performed with great gusto to a packed room full of parents who were very impressed, not only by the large repertoire but also by the fantastic standard of singing. The children really are committed and work hard to learn the songs using correct techniques and great enthusiasm. In the Spring Term we have been invited, along with the Ukulele Band to perform in a concert at the Enham Trust. We are currently practising lots of songs around the theme of Spring including some rounds.
Choir News 2016-17
Thank you to those children who braved the cold weather to sing beautifully at the Christmas Lights Celebrations at Little London and Enham Alamein. There are still plenty of spaces and new choir members are welcome to come along to have a try. In the spring term the choir rose to the challenge of learning lots of rounds and two part songs. Across the year the choir have set a great example of great singing by leading songs in worship and singing at events such as church services. They always receive lovely positive comments from parents and grandparents.
Choir News 2015-16
After our successful and highly praised performances over the Christmas period at a variety of events (including the switching on of the Christmas Lights at Little London and Enham and performing at the staff lunch at the Enham Trust), we were invited to sing at Smannell Church for the Bishop of Basingstoke's visit. The choir sang beautifully and got to chat with the Bishop who talked about their 'gifts' in his sermon. Thank you for all your wonderful singing at the Showcase of Musical Talent.
