Cookery Club

This club is led by Mrs Taylor and Ms Ingram. Check back each week for details about what we will be cooking in the club. Here, we'll give details of ingredients needed as well as posting the recipe for you to have a go at at home too! As the weeks progress we'll add photos and videos of our yummy creations too!

 

Ready, Steady...Bake!

Week One (25/04/2018) - naan pizzas

We're starting with an easy but much loved recipe; naan pizzas.  

Each child will need to bring:

 

1 naan bread as the pizza base

3 tbsp tomato based paste (e.g purée)

handful of grated cheese

a selection of your child's favourite toppings.

 

***Please remember we are a nut free school***

Week Two - (02/05/18) - Chocolate swirls

It's time for something sweet! You have the choice of using cocoa powder to make chocolate swirls or swap for cinnamon for a sweet, spicy kick!

Week 3 (07/05/2018) - cheese scones

Time for another savoury treat! We will be making cheese scones this week. Please note, you will not need to provide the milk for this recipe, we will do this for you.

Week 4 (16/05/18) - cookies

Back to the sweet treats this week and the children were keen for more chocolate(!) and so we've opted for cookies. You can use chocolate chips in the cookies or go for a healthier option and use fruit flakes.

week five (21/03/18) - rock cakes

we stick with a sweet theme for this week, making some simple rock cakes. Feel free to exchange the currants for other dried fruits or fruit flakes!

week Three - (7/03/18) - Cheese straws

This week we return to the savoury foods and will be making cheese straws. The focus will not on making the puff pastry (we would like ready made pastry please) but instead on the twisting, plaiting and layering of the cheese straws themselves.
