On Friday 16th September 2011 the annual school council Elections were held in the hall. Each child from year 1 to 6 is entitled to put themselves forward to represent their class on the School Council.
Candidates then prepare a speech or presentation to give to their class stating why they think they would make a good councillor.
It is taken very seriously by all the school and gives the children a taste of how our town councils and government are elected.
The Headboy acted as Presiding Officer ensuring that the secret ballot was abided by.
The polling clerks ensured each person only had one ballot paper and stamped each one with a special stamp that left a pattern of holes on the paper. For the youngest children there was help on hand.
The counting clerks had the job of counting up all the votes. At the end of the day in Celebration Worship, the headboy announced the names of the successful candidates.
