Safeguarding

At Smannell & Enham Primary School, the most important role of all members of staff, and the role they all have in common, is to make sure your children are safe.  We take our safeguarding children responsibilities seriously.  If we have concerns that a child’s needs are not being met, or a child may be, or is at risk of significant harm, abuse or neglect we will take action to address the concerns.

Safeguarding is:

  • Protecting children from maltreatment
  • Preventing impairment of children’s mental or physical health or development
  • Ensuring that children grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care
  • Taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes

We follow national and local legislation, policies and procedures and have weekly updates as well as annual whole staff training.  Our Designated Safeguarding Lead and Deputies undertake regular training from Hampshire in line with regulations.

The following documents form the basis of our safeguarding practice:

  • School Safeguarding Policy
  • School Child Protection Policy

Please do not hesitate to contact us on 01264 323201 if you have any safeguarding concerns about a child or report it directly to Hampshire Children's Services using the number 0300 555 1384.
