At Smannell and Enham school we endeavour to deliver a high quality science education which develops pupils’ scientific knowledge and conceptual understanding. We teach our children how science can be used to explain what is occurring, predict how things will behave and analyse cause and effect.
The children will learn the processes and scientific methods of enquiry to instil a deep and lasting interest in science, which will prepare them for a life in an increasingly scientific world.
Throughout the year our children explore and observe the changes in our school grounds as part of their longitudinal studies linked to seasonal changes. These nature studies inspire our children to question the world around them and foster a legacy of concern and active care for our environment.
Through our hands on, enquiry led curriculum we promote our pupils’ sense of excitement and curiosity about the natural world around them and set them up for a life-long love of learning.
